we called in to the restaurant twice whilst we were staying locally. its brilliant ! Please do try it. the food is fantastic and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. The New Inn is totally family friendly and even the 4 children with us finished everything. I couldnt rate it more highly. Thank you.

so we didn't really need any lunch! Real value for money, and accommodation and food

We enjoyed our stay in this country inn full of character. Nicky and Rich were very welcoming. Rooms were comfortable and breakfasts and evening meals good. The village is delightful.

There are plenty of houses, gardens and places to visit within a few miles. (But stick to the real roads - some are single track with few passing places and high banks.)

Better late than never - We stayed, together with friends, on 16 May and were thoroughly delighted. The rooms were lovely, food was superb (eat your heart out Jamie Oliver), and the surroundings and scenery a joy. As we were showing our friends from Australia some of England for the first time, we wanted a good English pub. Top marks; great place, great landlord and landlady. Thanks

The New Inn is a lovely old pub with excellent ambience. The food is exceptional with prices to suit all pockets. Nicky, Rich and staff make everyone feel welcome. Apart from good food and excellent company they also have a steak and fish night once a month and various other fun evenings throughout the year. I highly recommended this pub.

We stayed the night of 23 Mar 2009. There was a very warm welcome. The room was immaculate and the facilities very good. Dinner was excellent and breakfast most satisfying. Would we stay again? You bet. The village is charming (pity about all the overhead cables) and Perry's cider farm worth a visit.

Being local we regularly eat at this charming little pub with its 'nothing is too much trouble' friendly atmosphere. There is always a good varied specials board and Richard, the landlord and chef always makes a point of coming into the dining room to greet his guests and have the odd laugh and joke with them. All the staff are cheerful and friendly and good food together with an excellent range of beverages make this a top rate pub.

Sititng in an extremely pretty village, the New Inn is in prime location for spending either an afternoon or evening with great company. The pub is of traditional style and with a warm and friendly welcome, I felt at home. I chose the famed Perry's pork steak, made with the local cider from the village and left me feeling well fed! I highly recommend this family friendly Public house.

Had a lovely meal there today. Mine Hosts are exactly that, welcoming, friendly and willing to stop and chat (even though it was officially their day off!). The food was excellent, the service swift and the draught cider went down well. We even caught a glimpse of the monkey that lives in the Eucalyptus tree in the beer garden. Well recommended!

A wonderful place to stay in a beautiful English village. The accommodations were clean, modern and comfortable and the food was excellent. The Inn is a short walk from the Cider mill and local art store, though just taking the time to wander through Dowlish Wake is its own reward. You couldn't ask for friendlier people, both in and out of the Inn. I look forward to staying there again in the near future.

A real pub and and excellent comfortable, clean, quiet xxxxxxxx accommodation. And the best breakfast that I have ever been served. Try the smoked haddock with poached egg. If you keep your eyes open, you will see chef Richard pop out to his herb garden and make a selection including the aromatic lemon grass. Good luck and great success to you both.
